Dear Global Africans You Carry Africa Everywhere

Dear Sons and Daughters of Africa,

Across oceans and continents, your roots remain anchored in African soil.

No matter how far you have traveled, Africa remains within you.

It carries a rhythm of resilience, hope, and untapped potential.

This is a reminder of where you come from and an invitation to shape where Africa is going.

Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, once said, “I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me.”

That truth connects us beyond borders and time zones.

Your success abroad reflects Africa’s strength.

Now is the time to direct that strength back toward its foundation.

Africa’s story is changing.

For too long, the world has focused on poverty, conflict, and mismanagement.

These are fragments, not the full picture.

Africa is innovation in Lagos’ tech hubs, resilience in Douala markets, creativity in Dakar’s art scenes, and leadership emerging in Johannesburg and Kigali.

You are uniquely positioned to share these stories and support Africa’s renewal.

Your knowledge, your skills, and your resources can open doors.

You can mentor young entrepreneurs, invest in local industries, or offer expertise in sustainable development.

Each action brings the continent closer to its goals.

Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie once warned, “The problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.”

You have the power to change the narrative – to elevate stories of innovation, dignity, and bold progress.

Returning home may not always be possible.

But engagement goes beyond geography.

Start where you are.

Support African businesses.

Advocate for policies that strengthen African economies.

Create networks that empower African youth.

Africa is not waiting for rescue.

It is ready for partnership.

Let us move beyond aid and step into shared progress.

As Thabo Mbeki once said, “I am an African. I owe my being to the hills and the valleys, the mountains and the glades, the rivers, the deserts, the trees, the flowers, the seas, and the ever-changing seasons that define the face of our native land.”

Your journey has given you new tools and fresh insights.

Now is the moment to use them.

This is a call to reconnect, reinvest, and help shape the next chapter alongside those building it on the ground.

Africa needs you. Not as a savior. As a partner in progress.

With hope and solidarity,

Felix Tih
